When we think of Home, we think of Homestead!

Homestead definition:: 1. a house, especially a farmhouse, and the surrounding area of land, 2. any dwelling with its land and buildings where a family makes it home. 3. land claimed by a settler or squatter, (whut???) especially under the Homestead Act. 4. the place where one's home is.

Whether your homestead is on 160 acres with barns and a farmhouse or it's a condo on the 20th floor of a high rise building in the middle of a metropolitan city or it's a track home smack dab in the suburbs among 3000 other homes, your HOME is your STEAD. The place you fill. The place where you are rested + fed. Where memories are made and tucked into the heart.

Filling, resting, eating and making memories are all important facets of your homestead. How we invest into it with our time and money can directly impact how we feel about it. For us, it's building a garden, raising chickens, gathering friends in the baby barn for a delicious meal and of course, floating in the pool on a hot summer day in Texas. But for others it may be finishing a patio over looking sky scrapers or having a progressive dinner with neighborhood friends or even buying furniture for the first apartment. These are the things that make our home our homestead. We hope wherever you are homesteading,  (country, city or suburbs) you are living life to the fullest and enjoying every crick and cranny of it!
